You might think that it's just for measuring weight, but the peace of mind this small tool brings to the travel scene in 2026 is immeasurable.

From 2025 to 2026, many LCCs (low-cost carriers) and airlines will

There are very strict weight checks for carry-on and checked baggage.

It is not uncommon for an excess of just a few hundred grams to incur an additional charge of several thousand yen.

Knowing the exact weight beforehand at home or at the hotel is a smart defense to stick to your travel budget.

" I want to buy another souvenir, but I wonder if it will be too heavy? "

We'll solve your packing worries in an instant.

If you know the weight before you line up at the airport counter,

This allows you to head to the security checkpoint with plenty of time to spare, giving you peace of mind.

Recently, not only on airplanes but also on bullet trains, bringing "oversized luggage" on board has become a reservation-only process.

Size consciousness is also on the rise.

NewTrip's digital scale not only measures weight but also includes a measuring tape.

Because you can check both the weight and size (sum of the three sides) with just this one device,

We support a smooth journey regardless of your mode of transportation.

New Trip's digital luggage scale is designed specifically for "traveler-friendliness."

• Measures up to 50kg: Even heavy suitcases will be covered.
It accommodates a wide range of weight limits, from the 7kg limit for LCCs to 23kg for long-term international flights, and even up to 50kg. Because it uses a high-precision sensor with minimal error, you won't have to worry about rushing at the airport counter.

• Convenient built-in tape measure: No need to worry about size restrictions
"The weight is fine, but is the size okay?" This concern can be instantly resolved with the built-in measuring tape (80cm) on the side. It's especially useful for the strict regulations regarding the sum of the three dimensions on bullet trains and for final checks of carry-on size on airplanes.

• Highly visible LCD panel: Easy to read even in dark places
The backlit LCD screen allows you to clearly see the numbers even when packing early in the morning or late at night, or in a dimly lit hotel room.

・Common Measurement Mistakes

When using a digital scale, please be aware of the following mistakes:

• Touching the floor: If the suitcase is measured while touching the floor, the accurate weight will not be displayed.
• Not fully lifted: Partially lifting it can easily lead to inaccuracies.
• Measuring while shaking: If your arm is not stable, the reading will fluctuate.

To measure accurately, the key is to lift it firmly and hold it still.

Digital scales are useful not only when you're traveling.

Having just one in your home can help relieve some of the small stresses of everyday life.

Digital scales have an upper weight limit.

Generally, many models support up to 40kg-50kg,

but if you want to accurately weigh checked luggage, it's safer to choose a model that supports 50kg.

If the accuracy is low, there will be a discrepancy between the actual weight and the measured weight.

Generally, an accuracy of ±50g is sufficient.

Be aware that some very inexpensive models may have low accuracy.

When measuring in a hotel room or at night, the LCD screen can be difficult to see.

A model with a backlight is convenient because you can clearly see the readings even in dark places.

Recently, there are also models that not only measure weight but also include a measuring tape function.

This can be used to check carry-on baggage size (within 115 cm) or the size for oversized luggage on the Shinkansen (over 160 cm).

It's quite convenient to be able to check both weight and size with one device.

Since a digital scale is something you'll take with you when traveling, we recommend a compact and lightweight model.

If it's a size that can fit into a pouch or the side pocket of a suitcase, it won't get in the way.

By understanding the characteristics of your suitcase and using digital scales appropriately, you can further improve the precision of your packing. We will introduce specific ways to use them, using popular New Trip models as examples.

• Models with front pockets (0501/0702Plus): Check the weight balance. While front-opening models are convenient, concentrating laptops and gadgets at the front can surprisingly increase the weight. It's smart to check the overall weight with a luggage scale and adjust it to stay within carry-on limits (generally 7kg to 10kg).
